Storybook Trail ties to literacy

Mary Nelson (right) of University of IL Extension shares the newly constructed Storybook Walking Trail from Avenue D to McNeil Road in Rock Falls with Rock Falls Rotary member Cheryl Faber (left). The storybook, Pick a Pocket of Prairie, was selected as the first book to be posted in laminated form to be read to children as they walk the trail of 1/4 mile. What a wonderful opportunity for families to be able to walk outdoors, appreciate nature, and at the same time to share the love of literacy!
